OK, here is a photo of my "09 HERITAGE which will be known as "BLACK BEAUTY." I thought for the first 50 wax jobs this was a pretty good bit of factory stripping until I saw something in the Forum indicating an example of H-D selling comercial space to N!(e Sports Co. Some folks (tongue in cheek?) say this is a limited edition. Some folks have never seen this and think maybe a flaw in the paint. I couldn't see it as a swoosh until it was pointed out to me. It don't bother me none because I have the final word as to what it is & I don't care enough to post a poll but since some folks threaded different opinions, I thought I would show it. Yes, like I said before, "BB be like Charlie Brown & got two of 'em", one on each side.

Congrats, but those look like Samson pipes. Check and see if they have any baffles in them. It sounds like they may not. Just look inside for baffles.
Drew
Yeah, they're Samson, I just had Vance & Hines in my head.
I checked and they have no baffles at all. When I had my XL I changed from straight pipes to stock pipes and SE mufflers, but that was partly because the bike wouldn't run well with straight pipes.
I'll probably keep these as they are, unless the sound is completely outrageous when I ride without a helmet (had my wife's full-face on yesterday, due to the cold).
