I have the opportunity to get some hard bags with 6"x9" speakers "professionally" installed in them. I found them locally and am not sure what to do. I have always wanted to add ahrd bags to my ride and the price is right for these. I ahve to see what their condition is in person but the owner says they are perfect. It is kind of hard to tell in the cell pics.
I have a set of lids at the shop that need to be painted, and i think I have the hardware, but have to go through it to make sure. I don't really need speakers in them, but since they are already in there I might as well take them as are. All I need to do is add a red pinstripe in between the white or over the white and they will look perfect on my ride.
This would a be a project that will not be finished at least until mid December due to funds, but I cannot decide if I should do this.

That is the problem with hardbags. There are several options for mounting, but quick release is not one of them. There is the Cycle Visions bagger tail and the Tsukayu mounting kit, but neither is quick release. I could mount them with some QD brackets but am not sure how well they would do. I would really have to keep the weight down in them.
how much space are the speakers taking up? and if you were able to move your extra speakers that you just installed or the ones on the handle bars you could mount those in the bags. but if you just want more speakers, thats cool too hahah.
you actually have me thinking about hardbags later on, i just have to think about it and prob do that later on, in like a year or so if i still want to
Well, the speakers are really just a bonus. I was not looking for bags with speakers, they just came along. I doubt I'd be able to hear them at speed as they are behind me, but who knows. I'm going to check them out in a bit here.
was talking to my brother on the phone, you could always mold something on the top lid for a speaker or something, have it facing up would probably help hearing it alot more then else where
Hard bags are out for now as the guys said they were in great condition and they were NOT. I have it when people misrepresent their stuff, i drive an hour out of my way to check it out and then get told that is the way it is.
And to top it off the price was only $25 lower for asking about all the scratches and stuff. Wasted time.
