+1 on keeping the stock shocks (with a little adjustment). Especially if you are going to stay with the stock height (1" lower). I put the 422s on my Deluxe and although I've adjusted the hell out of them, I find them no better than the stock shocks and wish I would have put the money towards some other mod. However, if you want to lower your bike (and I know you don't), I guess I would go with the 422s over the lowering bolts, but even the 422s run very stiff when set for maximum lowering. Just my 2 cents.

OK thanks for the heads up. I don't want to lower my bike any more than it already is, I just want maximum comfort at the stock ride height of my Deluxe.

I set it up to only move about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of compression when i sit on it and this seems to work for me to provide a good ride when moving.
Thanks for the feedback..... seems like I'm getting very mixed reports on the 422's. Some say they are better and some say they are no better than stock....

422s here. I'm lowered about 1-1/2", and I'm running an 18" rear wheel with a lower-profile tire. My bike rides far better than it did with the stock wheel and shocks.

Just an fyi, your Stock shocks on the deluxe are not the 'stock' shocks that other softies have, but the 'profile' shocks I think.
They should give you a a very comfortable and decent ride if properly tuned.

the 422's are for those who have really stock shocks and want to go 2" lower rear.
I kept my stock shocks and lowered 1.5" rear, rides like a rigid on my lepera barebones but the spring seat is a breeze

OK, thanks I didn't know the stock shocks were different to other softail models.... I just thought they were lowered softail shocks.

The HD Profile Shocks are "stock HD softail shocks" only 1" shorter . Called "Profile" since they change the profile of the bike when installed by lowering it. The internals are no different

put a pair of works on my FXDF an I like them. I wanted to lower the bike about 1/2 -1 inch and not effect the quality of ride. They work great have the ones with two springs so I dont have to adjust when the wife wants to go somewhere with me. Only negative was customer service was not so great...sent the wrong spacers the first time and the shock rubbed. Every time I talked to someone they had no clue..sales person I guess. Once I sent them back they checked them and sent the correct spacers I love them. Any question feel free to ask.
