I'll probibly be banned from the softail section for this, but between the three you mentioned, I would personaly take the wide glide. It has nothing to do with the "counter balancer", to me the performance between the 2 is so miniscule that it is not even an issue, besides if it is a power issue, I would get the v-rod.
If you did want to add another option, I agree with a previous post that the softail custom would be an excellent choice.
Deluxe is a phat bike bro. i think you mean faster and better handling? is that right, or just more customizable? Either way you have to choose. The deluxe is low and phat. I think it is better than any of the other bikes you mentioned, but that is my opinion. Whatever you decide, it is the right choice.
one of my favorites too! hey mimo, how far from the border are you??? me and the wife may take a little trip down there someday....she's got dual citizenship and knows the language...........

More than welcome any time my friend. I'm not near the border but whiling to travel up north. We are already have blueprints to meet with "spartns" in Puerto Vallarta for March '07. You let me know.
I'm in Guadalajara which could be considered mid-west. Guadalajara is the cradle of tequila and gorgeous women, also the second largest city in Mexico after Mexico city.
Hello, I´m a new HD biker, just bought a 06 Deluxe a couple of months ago. I like the bike, but I´m 22 and want something less classic and a bit more agressive,
By the looks I like the Softail Duece, the Softail Standard or the Dyne Wide Glide.
Can anyone help me make a better decision about one of those three?
Thanks o lot!!

Unless you got $$ to burn, I'd just hang on to that deluxe and customize it. I've seen some badass looking deluxes. These little crushes that we all get on various bikes are ok, just try to wait a few years before you act on them. Plus, they come and go. I bought my deuce, then thought about a road king, vrod, springer, and some other bikes. I'm glad I kept the deuce. Looking back on it, I went with the deuce for a reason and I'm still happy with it.
You can tell where I stand. Less parts for the Deuce but it's very pretty to start. You can do anything you want if you're creative.
Friends have the wide glide - the layout to the Deuce is very similar. The Dyna frame puts the seat a little higher and of course, the shocks exposed rather than under are supposed to help the handling. Get what you like!!!
btw - love the Delux. When it came out in '04 I really liked it, figured it might not catch on. Turns out it's very popular and I still like it.
If you think anyone can tell the difference between the hp of a balanced vs unbalanced engine....
