That isn't a screw-up, that is the way it is supposed to be. The replacement seats all have a single post - solo or two-up.
You need to get the female receivers from HD, and using a tie wrap insert them into the holes in the fender. Standard operating procedures for Fatboy replacement seats... I'll see if I can take and post a few photos for you.
That sucks. Heres one thing Ive figured out about this forum. If a company makes a mistake, then its their problem to make it rite. And dont think some company reps dont read threads or forums concerning their products. And word of mouth is the best and worst advertising tool. If its their mistake, then YOU need to make them pay for everything, when I had my probs with samson, they corrected it all, including shipping. I didnt have to pay a dime out of pocket.
Besides instead of paying top dollar like hellride said for a "custom seat". Take a pic of the one you like and buy a plain jane lepara and if your in Japan, they have to have some upholstery guys in Japan. Take a regular lepara seat and have them restitch it. Thats what I did, and it looks just like the one lepara wanted $550 for. It cost me $250 with the gel insert. JMHO
Yep! I'm an idiot!
I went out and tried my seat on for size (probably while tunaman was posting above) and the seat fits fine. The seat is a little longer than stock and uses the next hole back.
Here are a few photos I snapped while trying it on:
With hardware atteched, it would use this hole.
This is where I made the mistake. I assumed the seat would be shorter and use the stock seat mounts.
Stock seat for reference.
So, all is well. Move along. Nothing to see here. Again, I'm an idiot.
Lesson learned here, always try new parts out before assuming anything!
Note to mods: you can go ahead and delete this thread. I don't want to tarnish Le Pera's good name.
HoggyMtnBreakdown, just go up to your first post and "edit" it...tell
your story there.
