i dont know why you are hung up on the fact that my bike WAS purple. I bought it used for $4000 with only 2500 miles. If you see my other thread https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...most-done.html
you will see it has changed alot and is no longer purple.

I wouldn't worry about it to much. Just consider the source.
The rest of us appreciate what you have done though.

Your bike is looking sweet robc234! You got a hell of a deal and then made the absolute best of the money you saved by making the changes that you did on your bike.

Go to the Laughlin River run. You'll see many. On the way back home, there was a large group with at least 20 SoCal style softails.
I like the look and if I like something, I'm not changing it just because I don't have the only one with that look.
Unless you are fabbing the stuff yourself, expect to see similar looking bikes. That is unless your tastes are way out there...
This thread went into left field...LoL... Nobody was talking about having an original design and changing your bike because others have it... Everybody has thier own taste in bikes... To each thier own. Just one guy said that Cali styled bikes are a "dime a dozen" of which they actually are not. Yes they are at big events like the Laughlin River Run or Sturgis, ect... but no you don't see them on a everyday basis... Atleast not in the mid-west...
Hehe, haha LoL....
you quoted lionsqrne where he implied a look was so common it was seen everywhere, so he chose another look for his.
My comment was was in context with the foul ball already hit out of the field.
Those bikes I saw were all headed back to California in that group.
My comment wasn't to imply the SoCal look was everywhere, only that they are out there and it's a look I'd go for if I had a Fatboy/Heritage/Deluxe and wouldn't care if it was seen everywhere.
