Give me some feedback about what you think/experienced. I have the Road6custom axle mount vertical mount license plate mount. My firestation is next door to State Trooper Station and I had them look at it and they could give a Sh$t, they can see it just fine. Ive been followed by other small city cops and the big city I live in and no trouble so far. However, the small town next to me where i bought my bike which will remain nameless (Concord,NC) opps, is notorius for giving tickets for this plate mount. Also heard the same about Daytona, Fl giving tickets for this. What has been your experience with this mount if you have it. I know by law it doesnt matter, Im just venting. Thanks for reading or responding.
All depends on the locals. Some are ********, and some don't give a ****.
But you will get more leeway from a fellow rider before you get it from anyone else. I don't think there are any laws against it here in NC.....as long as they can read the state, it should be fine.
But then again, some people just got a stick up their *** 24/7
Im kinda worried about my trip to Daytona for bike week. Im gonna ride with some buddies so hopefully ill blend in alright and ill be sure to use my signals so they dont have an excuse to pull me over.
But its all up to the officer I guess. Some are a-holes and have it out for bikes and others dont care as long as you dont act like the a-hole.
They say the same thing about the Height of Ape Hangers. I got warned last year in panama for Thunder beach. Im 6'6'' and have 18'' apes. IS that goin to make me change,
F**K NO!!!. They should worry about other SH*T, then messin with us. Go catch the bad guys.

Im with you, i dont think there is an actual law against it. The Speed Triple Triumph in my Sig has the plate up under the seat on the subfender and had a couple of my Trooper buddies look at it at the station and one said can you bend it down a little more. I did and he said looks great, no problem. OH yea he's a motorcycle officer. The same city i was talking about goes out of their way to give riders tickets for not DOT Helmets if that tells you anything. ********!

Reason: word
In WA State, they made vertical plates illegal last July, they'll also impound your bike if you don't have a MC endorsement and you need to have a real DOT helmet, not just a DOT sticker. I wouldn't think you'd get pulled over for any of these things, but if you are already pulled over for something else, they could write you up if the cop is a jerk or you're a jerk to the cop.

I think they are illegal in Florida and some others states too.

I totally agree, if your a jerk or if the cop is a jerk, its like a lottery ticket, depends if your # is picked. I honestly like cops and have nothing against them as alot of my buddies are cops. Its just like us on the fire dept. can be jerks with violations on certain calls and write tickets if we want to. It just pisses me off for those of us who have to deal with cops who have a grudge or whatever when i have other officers say its not a problem. Again thanks for letting me vent, I know i cant change the law, it just pisses me off.
DOT helmet is state law. But I don't think you can be pulled for your helmet alone. You have to be stopped for another offense and the helmet violation can be added....
There are many loopholes in any law. And those loopholes can go both ways.
There is also a loophole law that allows a biker to turn left on solid red light or red arrow. I don't know the exact guidelines, but its there in case you are at a light where the sensor does not acknowledge your bike as a vehicle.
Yea man, Ive already had to deal with a local cop about that. After i told him id waited for the light change, he said it was no problem and actually said he just wanted to make sure i was being safe. Either way he was cool about it and i had no problem with it. Their for the most part doing their job and have no problem with. I even told him i understood why he pulled me over and he was suprised with my response. It definitely depends how you respone to them. I was just curious if anybody had problem with the stupid little laws. No worries though. Thanks again.
