Hi All,
Well its official. I finally purchased my first HD.... a black cherry 2007 Softail Deuce!
I know the bike is pretty much dressed up to start but as I was browsing the accessory catalog everything I thought about purchasing it said (except FXSTD).
One thing I can't find much on is touring/saddle bags. Is this because of the streamline fender and the bracket. I do like the bob tail fender on the standard. Are fenders/brackets interchangable? If so it appears I would have more options. Anyway, just now getting started and was just curious of my options.
I have the HD bags and the hidden bracket system on my deuce. The rear turn signals have to be relocated with a kit. They are overpriced as hell, but I haven't seen a decent looking alternative.
With the stock pipes the Deuce bags are about it. I have them and they are good for a long weekend or short week of solo touring. Mine usually stay off unless I'm going on a trip. Hint; use 3/8 acorn nuts to cover the bolts if you take them off.
If you go with low pipes like my Vance and Hines you can go with bigger bags. Boss Bags has larger bags for the Deuce but they can get expensive. SpeedsterX may have the right idea though.
