Default switch caps on a flstc

Gotta ask a question from the knowing. Is changing the switch caps to chrome a big deal? Is it as simple as it looks? And is theres something to be aware of when opening the switch housings? I'm about as mechanically inclined as a monkey. Thanks for all the help.

I did it with a friend who had done it before. It was a pain. We did use a pocket knife blade to pry the old ones off and assist in putting the new ones on. Be careful not to pry open to far on the new ones. The throttle grip has to come off so be careful not to drop the brass throttle cable piece. I now don't have that bike and dont think Im going to go through the pain for my current ride.

I just did it..be careful the new ones break real easy. I have some extra caps..lol ...I learned the hard way. If you put one side in and pinch really hard with your thumb while you slide the other side down you will be less likely to break them.

I did this over the holidays, as I got a chrome set from Santa. I didn't have to remove the throttle. After the first one was figured out, it was pretty straightforward. Instead of a knife, I used a small flat-bladed screwdriver for removal.

Good luck!
