So I got the chrome headlamp visor for my 06 heritage softail classic. Installation instructions were pretty clear ==> remove stock trim ring, insert visor, reinstall stock trim ring by pressing down hard and in to seat it. Well, I can't for the life of me get the thing to seat properly. It snugs up on top, but then opens up about a 1/8 inch the way down towards the bottom. I have installed, removed, smacked, and cussed. Can't get it to seat. Those of you that have this accessory from Harley, how were you able to get it to seat? I thought about filing the inside edge of the trim ring, but haven't implemented that yet. What say you? It does look good, and I am probably being overly ****, but it ain't right.
I have a 2010 Deluxe.I don't know if its the same thing. The Head Lamp visor fit perfect bolted right on no problem. Now the passing lamps visors .What a PITA to get on.Just keep fiddling with them they will go.
if i remember correctly, the one on my 2000 fatboy went under the ring that holds the light to the bucket. then the cover went over the light, ring. and visor. mine was a hd part. steve
Keep trying, but make sure that the little tabs with the rubber pieces around them are spaced far enough out to allow the trim ring to go all the way on... some times you have to pry them out just a bit.
Hey Bobber whats the deal with the nacelle and the trim rings?I have a Harley softail nacelle in the box in my garage.I was going to start the install soon on my Deluxe.Any tips or tricks I need to know. Thanks
