Guess there must be a post on here about that.

Thx, don't know what direction to go in now. Guess I am just gonna wait until some tax money hopefully shows up!! Then the budget will dictate the next mod!!

A couple free, and quick, mods that anyone can do are remove reflectors and belt guards. That is, if you haven't already.

To get the reflectors off you should know that they applied via 3M tape. So, just take some dental floss and run it between the reflector and the bike. At this point, you will see excess 3M tape still sitting there. Take a damp washcloth, or papertowel at this point, and just work off the main excess points. From here, start applying Goo-Gone to the tape residue. Let it soak a few minutes and reapply. This will help the remaining tape to cone off smoothly and easily. I recommend doing any scrubbing at this point with a cloth. Paper towels will scratch your finish! Total time invested will take approximately 20-30 minutes. But, I'm also slow...

To remove belt guards, go look at them on your bike. Now, look through your tool-box for sockets to fit the bolts. Apply, remove, wha-lah! Takes 2 minutes. If you don't like it, it only takes another two minutes to plop them back on.

I like the look without the belt guards, but are there any downsides? Do the guards limit the road debris that might hit the belts? Will they keep my kid's feet out of there?

LOL...wait...I think I responded to you on another thread. Oh, well.

The only downside I could possibly see is that if your passengers can't reliably keep their feet on the pegs, than that may pose a problem. The belt is a moving part and I can only foresee that your balance would become lost should a passenger put a foot on the belt. I only ride solo, so a more experienced person could better answer your question. But, if it were me, I'd put my upper guard back on if I were to carry a passenger. Only takes a minute or so to put back on...
