regaurdless of the fact that they stopped making them 16,995 for an 07 is a huge jack up!! i do agree holding up is the best bet, the more i read this thread the more out ragious that price is

If it is has been at the dealer for some time, they will want to move it. I'll bet if you went in with a serious offer to buy you could talk them down $2k easily, probably more. Part of the deal would have to be to change the rear fender.

Dealers still charge way too much for used bikes IMO. I looked around for a while on craigslist before I found my 07 Nightrain, but got a helluva deal. Already had V&H exhaust, SE stage 1 intake, 18' Nash Gimps (not for everyone), black powdercoated front rim and I picked it up last June w/ 3200 miles on it for $12500

Ugly fender kit not sure which would change it at some point.

What would be a fair price for this bike? I moved too slow on a 2009 Night Train with 2,500 miles on it. But this one has been sitting at the dealer for a couple months.

woodlands eh? my father and I bought jackets there saturday and saw it. you're right about that fender...damn it's ugly.

I think the price is high, check around. Craigslist, Ebay, and other on-line sites are a great places to research. My friend bought a 2006 Train with S&S carb, Crane Ign., Strutless rear fender(Heartland style look), lowered, 3800 miles, Billet foot controls, and the factory parts for $11,000. I just bought a 2006 FXST standard at Christmas with 9400 miles for $7999. It has the factory security system, upgraded chrome rear wheel, chrome lower forks, chromed out engine, custom flamed paint, quick detach sissy bar, and probably more that i'm forgetting. So the deals are out there if you look. Dont get robbed by the dealers. I saw a Ford dealer here in my state advertising a 2008 nighttrain with 7100 miles for less then $9500 out the door. Good Luck

16,995 for an 07 is just a couple hundred less than MSRP w/ 3 yr warrenty. I think I paid about $17.1 and that included some overseas delivery charge from AAFES.

As has been said many times, mods don't make a bike more valuable but they can make it worth less (like the weird Duece fender on that Train). The only mods I'd pay extra for are engine mods if they are done right. Cosmetic mods are just somebody else's vision and taste.

Here's an '09 for $14K with a bunch of nice stuff. It was in our own classifieds. If you can ride, then go get it and ride it home!

Thank you for all the replies. I am really waiting until the end of March to get a bike possibly end of April. But trying for March while things are still slow.

Yes, it is the HD in the Woodlands, their sister store had a Night Train in Kingwood Friday afternoon. 2009 with 2500 miles for 15,995. Drove up Saturday morning to try to make a deal someone bought it Friday night. Guy didn't call me back.

The trade-in value is 9,500 and retail is 12,995. Figuring it would be a good deal if they dropped it 2 to 3K. Not sure if 10K is a lot of miles for a used bike.

Reason I am having to go through a dealer is I am in the process of selling my sportbike. Trade in is 4600 and retail is 6800. But I have not had luck on Craigslist or Ebay selling it everyone is trying to give me 3K for it. The dealer said at a minimum they will give me the 4600 but if in good shape a little higher.

Yah, I am walking away from this one can't get past that fender. Price is too high for starters.

This morning a local dealer listed a Night Train they didn't have last week. Will have to go take a look at lunch time today.

2008 with 2500 miles. Don't understand people who buy bikes and don't ride at all.
