Default Some Mod Input, Please

I just pulled the trigger on a Shotgun Shock. I contacted J.D. directly and he gave me a great deal on it, shipped to Japan. I am also about to pull the trigger on the extended fender from Dragonfly Concepts. They sent me a picture of my exact bike with one of their fenders on, painted to match and I like it:

I was concerned about the way it flares out, but I think it's going to look pretty sick, slammed. Member, HarleyHeaven, has the same basic shape to his fender on a slammed rear and I really like the look:

Like his, my fender will also rock a smooth top - no license plate or tail light. I'll be integrating the tail light into my turn signals and doing a side mounted plate.

Aside from that, I have these wheels:

And this seat ready to go on:

I also have some 18" apes from HCC waiting to go on. The bars are chrome, but the look I'm going for is to basically black out (gloss, not flat) everything except the motor (for emphasis) and perhaps the pipes. How do you folks here think that will look?

Should I black out the bars?
Oil tank?
How about the struts?
Should I black out the drive belt pulley completely or leave the edge unpainted to match the wheels?

Opinions, input and further suggestions all welcome!

Side note:
I am going to put my black V&H BRs (see sig pic) back on for the time being, but I'm still undecided as to what exhaust I ultimately want to rock on this project. I'll ask for opinions on exhaust again, once I have all the above mods done and pics to show.

I think your gonna love your mods! I really like that seat. I have researched probably every site in existance that carries an extended fender for the 200mm and never did find one I liked. Make sure thats the fender you want bro, that being flared way out like that was something I could have never gotten past and mine is slammed with shotgun. Of course I'm just talking about my taste lol. I'm making a stretched fender for the 200mm myself to my exact liking.

I would stay with the chrome bars, struts and oil tank for now. The wheels you are going to get have chrome on them and I think it will all flow nicely. The black in your wheels will flow with your paint.

If you don't like it, then take it all off and go black. Be careful, because you can go to far black and your bike will have a confusing theme. I really think with the chrome apes and those wheels your gonna like what you got bro. have you felt 18's, they are up there. I saw my buds new 16's the other day and damn they are tall.

Mine is a Klockwerks fender. I don't know why they don't make a fender for the wider tire bikes? These things are 14 guage steel...very solid and strong. My painter kept talking about how heavy they are.
Good luck with your project. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Some nice mods you have planned.
I agree with JIMSFBL about chromed bars offsetting the rim's black.

Its just my opinion, but I would leave the chrome, chrome. It'll look outstanding and be a hell of a lot easier, cheaper and quicker than having the bike in pieces for who knows how long while your having parts powder coated or painted.
Then having to be real careful not to scratch, ding or dent anything while putting it back together.

Leave the chrome. It'll set off that gloss black nicely.

Thanks for the input so far. I think will take the advice of those that said to leave the chrome for now until I see how it looks with the mods. I appreciate all the input and suggestions.

Yeap, I have the front one from them. I think I over reacted when packing the fender for the air-freight, (paid $80) for a bullet proof packaging, but better safe than sorry. The sheet metal from Klockwerks is top notch.

Mimo.
