Default Softail Security System light

I got the scoot out today for a ride and noticed after I turned the ignition on and the security light did it's usual "solid on for 4 seconds and then off" it came back on and stayed on throughout my ride. I moved the fob far away and the system seems to activate normally when the bike is messed with. The manual just states "if it stays on, have a dealer check it" and I can't find any info in a brief scan of my service manual. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks Doc. I had to read down a bit but I saw one HFSM error pertaining to the clutch switch short to ground. I had the left switch housing open recently while I changed my grips. I might have pinched a wire when I put it back together.

Checked the error codes and under "S" (TSM/TSSM) I had a B1154 - Clutch switch input short to ground. I discovered my clutch interlock switch was actually broken off. No doubt my fault and the cause of the error. I didn't know if it was historical or current so I cleared the error and the fault did not come back when I recycled the ignition. Now...do I replace that switch or just seal up the hole? I need another post to explore the dilema. Thanks Drew for the guidance.
