Ok I just bought a 2003 Fatboy 2 weeks ago....I have not taken anything apart yet, and not that I want to, however it has all HD parts, nothing aftermarket on it, and the headlight assembly has been changed over to the HD Nachelle and Dua Bulb headlight Kit Part # 67864-04A and Auxiliary Lighting Kit Part # 69287-07 and Aux Bulbs Part # 68348-05 and without me taking it all a part I would like to see if you guys would know what bulbs are in all of these.....I want to convert it over to Full HID in all spots....both headlight bulbs and both side aux lights....sorry if I don't know all the terminalogy yet....I will don't worry about that....and only way I know the part numbers and sound somewhat like I know what I am talking bout is the guy I got the bike from provided me with all paperwork on everything that was installed on bike with all part numbers and cost documented....again I would like to install a full HID kit in all four lights....I am not going to pay the prices HD wants for their HID kit even though it's the samething I can buy for much less.....they do provide nicer ballast box brackets to install ballast boxes inside headlight asembly housing....but small difference for big $$ difference.....I can live with my cheaper brackets......but what I don't know and need help with is what bulbs are in each of the 4 spots....obviously the two side aux lights are the same on each side of headlight assembly....so if you guys know what bulbs these are ie....H4's in headlight? or something like that I would appreciate any help you can give me.....please don't give me HD numbers....I need what they cross reference too for us normal folks lol
thanks again...
Usually headlights are h4 and passing lamps are h3. Yocu an get some 55W h3's for teh passing lamps for $3 each. You can also get brighter h4's for the headlight for about $15 each. Go the the auto parts store!
I use to work at a small indy shop and use to always put 'off road' bulbs in my bikes....but now with HID being so cheap that is the way to go....but the reg. headlight is H4 and the passing lights are H3's correct? Thanks!
I have a buddy that can get me real HID Kits with Slim Line Ballast Boxes for $75 and they are not the junk like you find at alot of places online....now I have bought a set before on FleaBay and they <knock on wood> worked great.....so we'll see......I guess since I am going to try to install 4 slim line ballast boxes in the headlight basket that I will install at like 12-3-6-9 o'clock positions like the guy did on the one video I posted who installed one at the 3 o'clock position.....I think it will update the look of the bike along with installing LED's in all other lights
