I just got back from a 150 mile ride ... about 60% hwy and 40% city ... and I'm averaging 45.5 mpg ... and I do whack the throttle ... anybody in that range??
I have 2 1/4 Rush slip-ons, an A/N big sucker intake and a T-Max ECM on my 2010 Fatboy.
yeah, i'm real close to that. I think last time i went for a long ride it was like 47ish.
Thanks ... I guess we are in the right ball park. If I was less throttle-happy I could be up around 47-50 on a trip ... but it sounds and feels so good!
haha yeah probably so, i got the bike out today for about a hour and wasted half a tank.. once you get on the hwy and get goin about 70 the mpg should kick up to atleast 50

Yeah ... that's what I figure too. I was on I-75 for a bit ... near Sarasota, FL .. but traffic full of ancient wanderers in 2 ton cages.... a catastrophe waiting to happen ... so I took off on two lane black tops where I was only able to go 50-65 and went through some two-bit towns where I had to slow down. Finally got the bike running strong by tweaking the Thundermax with Stage-1 changes and wanted to see how far off I sent the mpg. From the looks of it ... given a guy reports 46 with a bone stock 96 ... I guess I'm doing ok. Un-strangled the engine and it still gets decent gas mileage ... guess I'll stop tweaking now ... and start saving up for a 117 upgun. Better make sure the wife can't read this
Actually I'd say you are a notch above average.... My Softail Deluxes both got in the 42-44mpg range... It really didn't matter how I rode either. One had Rush 1.75s only and the other had Rush 1.75s, SE Stage I A/C, and dealer download. My Street Glide got better...in the 44-47mpg range...before the Stage III+.

Good to know...thanks...I have spent more time than I usually spend on anything tuning this bike... its loud...pulls hard for a stock 96 and mpg is ok....its tuned right on the ragged edge...any less injector duration or more advance and she'll ping a bit on hi-test pump fuel...if I fill the tank with CAM2 she won't ping....
Whenever I get something stable ....its time for a change. Been thinking about Zippers 117 kit.
