I am referring to the element. Some look black and mine is red(more purplish) and I would like to have the small cover over the air cleaner rather than a ham can.

Exactly! This looks great, but if I had the same cover mine would look Red(purplish to my eyes). Did you use a black oil? If not tell me where to purchase that element.

Thanks for the replies, I will try the black oil and see if that cancels out the red(purplish). Still find it hard to imagine people don't know what i am talking about. Maybe they are on crack! WTF!? I know that is why so many peeps take pics with rain socks on!
Does this help the color blind people out there see what I am asking about? One of these pics looks more PURPLE than the others. Shall we have a vote?! Or shall i say Burgandy(PMS 201 for the printing inclined)

I tried this on my last bike as the bike was blue and wanted to match the filter.
I did not have a good experience with this oil. It is much thiner that the K&N RED oil.

You're right, looks more pink. Sorry, can't call that red. There must be a reason for trying to change the color! Maybe I ain't the only crazy one!!!
