went to register the bike (94 softail custom it shows 138 miles on odometer. Bikes real clean, so it believable. They decided it was wrong so checked the box that says it may be wrong. Printed the new title odometer mileage as 139000.
now I have to get a notarized letter from seller, and resubmit for $25.
How F.ed Up is this.
13,900 miles might sound more like it for a 17 yo ride and that would be low, only 817 a year. If it really is 139 then WOW you found a deal. Are you sure the odometer is original and so on?

I wouldn't loose sleep over it. You take care of it and keep your own records from your date of ownership the mileage on the title is irrelevant, typos happen. Makes for a good purchase story though.
Ya I know but if you saw the bike you'd agree theres no way this bike was ridden. What I think happened was he bought it, dumped it, repaired it and parked it. I know he recently had a heart attack so he figured he would never attempt to ride again, so sell it. No pits, No scratches (I mean none), No missing paint off heads or front of frame. Clean, even if it was turned back, this bike can't have 2k miles. Not that I'm going to sell her but if I had to, could you hear me trying to explain it to a prospective buyer. What a horse and pony show that would be.
Well thanks for letting me vent. Now off to call Previous Owner.
