First thing I did was to put on a set of the 1.75" Rush slip-ons. Wanted to tone it down some so I put on a set of the 1.5" baffles. Much more to my liking. They get louder over time so it won't be long before I am up to the sound of the first set I guess.
I like the stock look of the original HD mufflers on y Heritage, but honestly, the bike sounded like a 2-cylinder air compressor. I sent them into American Custon, they re-baffled them, so I have the same look, with a deeper sound. To me anything else looks like an aftermarket hang-on, or an out of character set up that detracts from the styling HD built into the bike.
Have the same bike as you, dealer recomended Rush Slip-Ons with 1 3/4" Baffles. Love them, really throaty without being obnoxious.
I had Rush slip-ons with 1 3/4 baffles prior to installing my V&H Duals. If I ever go back to my stock headers, I will definitely put the Rush back on. They sounded and looked great...but I wanted that dual look.
