Default New bike and some plans

Went out for a test ride on a used 2008 Night Train with 2400 miles. Test ride did not go well at all died twice during the ride. First time the battery in the security fob was low(stalled at a light and would not restart.) So they had to come pick me up and trailer it back. Got a new battery in the fob. So I leave on my second ride bike dies again not sure what was going on cut off after shifting into third. Would not restart battery was low and just clicked. So they came to pick me up a second time. Okay this bike is out. Haven't even bought the bike yet and it just doesn't give me a good feeling.

Already had told them I wanted to take a Deluxe out for a ride before taking the Night Train out. So they had a one year old Deluxe with 8000 miles. Took it out for a nice smooth 8 mile ride. Got back to the dealer I could not stop smiling what a nice smooth bike to ride.

They had every color new bike there but wow the Root Beer is an awesome color the pictures do not do it justice at all. I had to have it.

My first mod is going to be the Shotgun air suspension will be contacting DrVtwin soon I hope.

Next mod will be an exhaust, air cleaner and tune. Not sure what is all involved with that will have to do some reading. Either Sampson True Duals or D&D Fatcat again going with DrVtwin to get me setup.

I contacted Hog Deluxe to see if I can get their bags in brown I think brown bags will look hot with the root beer paint. They do offer their bags in brown.

I have been searching for seats thinking something like this Le Pera seat but don't know if they are offered in brown. Looking at this seat here.

http://www.lepera.com/seat_pgs/v3_So...l.php?SEATID=4

It has been overcast here so I have not been able to get any decent pictures yet. Here are a couple from my iphone.

Congrats on the new ride! It is gorgeous. I have seen the root beer in the sun and the flake really shines. I can also get you the Hog Deluxe bags and the LaPera seat. I prefer my C&C to LaPera, but that is just me. Either company can make a seat in brown for you.

Congrats on your new ride. Have fun setting it up.

I hope the dealer you bought from gets their act together - sounds like they're not paying attention to the condition of their used bikes. Sending a prospective buyer out on a screwed up bike isn't gonna sell much.

You got that right! Ended up dropping almost 6K more than I was expecting. Pushing back my mods just a bit.

Going to have to flip a couple houses to pay it off.

Glad nothing bad happened while you were driving that night train and it cut out. Was this an HD dealer? That kills me. I was at Cartersville HD north of Atlanta yesterday and some of their used bikes had front brakes with almost no pressure and throttle cables so loose I am surprised they work. But of course a dealer will tell you if you trade in that we have to take a hit so they can go through the bike and make it worthy to sell. Maybe I am too picky but I just hate to see stuff like this.

But good news on the deluxe. You will enjoy it for sure.

Yes, it was at a local HD dealer here in Houston. Just figured to go with a brand new bike with a warranty.
