1998 FLSTF cut struts, bigger tire??
Fellas,
I am new to this board and I am in the process of "bobbing" my fatboy. I have already cut the fender struts off the rear and have stripped all unnecessary wiring from the bike. I am getting ready to start re-wiring and finish off the rear, when I thought "hey, maybe I can stuff a bigger tire on the back, since it's out in the open".
I would like to goto a 160/180. I have a friend who has a rim from a 2002 night train (but this is chrome spoke same height/width that I could snag. Do I need to change the swingarm to a later model for caliper clearance? Convert to chain drive or smaller belt?
Probably beating a dead horse, but any advice will be GREATLY appreciated. I don't want to buy a kit and spend a ton of scratch.
