I wear a DOT approved HCI helmet. Got it from Renegade Classics in Baltimore. Dude told me it was the lowest profile DOT approved helmet on the market. No mushroom look here.
Here is a pic: http://www.jpcycles.com/product/132-032
(I took off the little visor)
It is definitely low profile. I have it stickered up and consistently wear it on long rides with no problems.
Anyone know if the Rockhard size Med is available?
Have you checked leatherup.com or motorcyclesuperstore.com? I know that it seems like two of the helmets that get talked about the most in here, the Rockhard and the Outlaw Carbon Fiber were always out of stock once this thread started blowing up....
leatherup has red flake in medium....
motorcycle superstore has gold flake and red flake

I am also after a medium rockhard in matte black.... Some of the internet sites are a real pain in the bum with respect to checking availability (not the two mentioned above). They take you thru the whole payment process before they finally come back and say out of stock.
this is a popular helmet so supply goes very quick.
I've had a backorder with Leatherup for 3 months now... wouldn't exactly rely on them for stock anytime soon. I just wouldn't ignore other venders as an alternate option.
Just received an Outlaw Carbon Fiber ˝ helmet. Has DOT and FMVSS-218 certification labels. This helmet is smaller than my AFX FX-70 ˝ helmet, and just a tick larger than my “illegal” (whatever that is??) beanie ˝ helmet. No mushroom head. Haven’t weighed it, but it’s lighter than the AFX. Stays put on my noggin at 70MPH+. No noticeable movement at all. I was surprised by the lack of whistling noise, usually caused by the straps on ˝ helmets. This one is quite.
Couldn’t find it anywhere except on eBay. Paid a little more than the “out of stock” price at Leatherup.com, but I got one. Be advised about the sizing. I wear a Medium in the AFX or Vega brand. The XL in the Outlaw fits me perfect. The seller on eBay has a sizing chart. Use it.
I have the Outlaw Gloss Carbon Fiber helmet. It does compare to my old ACC helmet. I did like the ACC liner and straps better but the Outlaw via Leather-up was over $100 cheaper!
After about a month, I have been happy with it. I have an oblong head and did have to make some adjustments with the liner to fit better.

I got the carbon fiber outlaw low profile helmet.. its better than most dot's but still sits a couple inches higher on my head than a novelty. I think they run small in sizing also. I got a large and its kinda snug, usually wear mediums. Overall its pretty decent for the price.
