I have a 2007 Night Train and want to buy a solo seat. There are a ton of options out there, but most of them are for the stock fender. I am probably going to keep the stock fender for now, but I am considering a strutless fender eventually. My priorities for now are a solo seat and lowering the bike.
If I buy a new seat, would it be possible to get a strutless fender later that would still work with it? Or is there no way to get a new fender that's going to have the exact same profile at the back of the seat? I don't think cutting the stock fender down will be an option because it seems like there would be too much gap (even lowered... I think).
Any suggestions? I'm really not interested in the heartland kit yet because of the price, and I'd prefer to go strutless anyway if I can.

I went with a Milwaukee Iron strut-less fender and my stock seat was not even close to fitting (which i already anticipated).I had to make a custom seat. If your planning on getting a new fender later, i would definitely wait on the solo seat for right now. That's just my opinion. The profile from my strut-less fender and the stock fender are a lot different.
Just get a used solo off of eBay from someone who has done a strutless fender and then you won't be out much when you replace it. I picked up an HD Brawler cheap.
