Default aftermarket detachable sissy bar?

I've been looking for an aftermarket detachable sissy bar for my 07 nighttrain to tie bags too when I go on trips and I have not had any luck and I don't wanna pay Harley prices for something I use a couple times a year. Any ideas?

Default Backrest

Well I got mine off of Ebay but its made by HD but should tell you that it works great! I only use mine when the wife wants to ride along and I've never had any problems. I think Kuryaken makes a detachable also so you can check there. Check out JP cycles too!

Well back in the old days we made our own. If you have acces to an oxy acetelene torch and a welder, bendup some 1/2 inch square cold roll steel and weld on four tabs where the bolts for the fender struts go through the fender and have the thing chromed.

i made mine using 5/8 inch steel round bar, 6 foot long. heated the middle with a torch, bent it to the shape i wanted (simple round turn) and then drill pressed 2 holes in each bottom side to thru-bolt it to the side plates. i had to sand down the ends to fit into the side plate, but was really easy. the side plates i got off ebay for $20 and the bar was like $10 at a local steel shop. used acorn nuts on the thru-bolts which cost about $3 for it all. sanded it all down and painted it black.

Or use rebar, a Map-pro gas torch and do as above.
