Well was gone to Iraq for months and took a new job in Afghanistan, keeping me gone longer. About to get back next month and do what I said I wouldn't. heartland 250 bobber kit. (black seat) Same style wheel as whats on it now. And a more aggressive set of cams.
The parts didn't come in on time so I rode the **** out of it the whole 3 weeks I was back from afghanistan. Went to Cali and back plus some and loved every mile of it.
Leaving the house.
Bedding down in Texas.
Somewhere in new mexico
West of flagstaff just after the nice people at the harley dealership off of I-40 refused to help me out. (front master cylinder failed, no rebuild kit, I wanted to take it all off rather than have fluid spraying me down...they said taking it off is a safety issue so sent me on my way with fluid spraying in my face as the safer alternative. **** them..I improvised on my own. From here on out the bike will have no front brakes at all..after riding over 2000 miles without it I figure I can live without it and it looks better.
Crossing the colorado river from AZ to CA. finally had to put on that stupid helmet.
Good to see somebody gets out and makes a trip like you did diablo.I know you had a good time despite the brake issue. My first 3 Harley's didn't have one.No problem.G.
thanks fellas. I have a lot more pictures of that trip but too damn long to load em up. Here's a couple from taking the other bike on a little 600 mile round trip to eureka springs, arkansas. It's the first time I've ridden it further than short blasts and surprised me that I actually enjoyed it.
I even got caught in some rain but it wasn't too bad tucked behind the windshield. I whipped out the gear and found a shady hotel to hide out in about 30 minutes later.

Been a while and a lot of miles. Finally put an open belt drive on it a while back. (2 3/4" bdl) modified my exaust a little too and retuned it. Sitting at 90/90 to the tire now. also turned some .50cal ammo cans into hard bags for the winter. I dig the look but pulling them back off for the warm weather since I dont need the extra room without cold gear.
Also added matching rear pulley and two piece brake rotors. First pic is while I was waiting for rear wheel to get back so had my stocker on.
