Glad to hear there is nothing wrong, thanks everyone.
I do not intend and mean to be a know-it-all and alarmist....just trying to present a tip to a fellow rider based on what I experienced.......
If the compensator is not tightened or the spring replaced soon-----one day a sound of many steel ***** clunking around inside the primary will be heard---then perhaps the chain will slap around and do further damage.
Each bang that is heard contributes further to the looseness and degradation of the compensator, spring, and other parts inside the primary cover. It will also affect the engine and transmission.
Took it out of the garage for the first 'start' of the spring. Pulled the choke out and may have been guilty of 'also' pulling the throttle at the same time. Anyhow... gas started to pour out of the air filter 'only' when I try start my bike.
It has a charge (it is turning over) but ...the gas is running out of the air filter and no luck starting it up.
