I am new to the forum and have question on tires for my Fatboy. I have a 2004 fatboy with 16 inch / 3.00 width factory wheels. The factory tires are Dunlop :130 /80 / 16 (Front) 150/ 80 / 16 (Rear). I have bought after market wheels for it that are 18 inch / 3.50 width. My question is can I put a 140/18 inch on the front and a 160 / 18 inch on the rear without any modification? I notice the 2006 Screaming Eagle Fatboy and the 2007 Fatboys have 18 inch wheels and on the front they do have the 140 / 18 tire, but is the front fender a little wider on those models to allow a 140 tire??
Thanks for all of your help!
Here are the wheels I am putting on:
sweet wheeels and good luck. I cant answer your question, but I just bought new Mezelers (love them) and their website is very help and might answer your questions.
I spent quite a bit of time on the forum and talking to folks at dealers to research them..........almost everything lead me to the Mezt (AVON a close 2nd). Now that I have the Mezt, I am amazed how easy it is to see the improvement; better grip, smoother feel than the original Dunlops. I bought them at a great price thru American Motorsports in Zeiglersville, PA. You can find them thru eBay Motors. Free shipping and $60 less each vs my H-dealer.
You can fit an Avon 140-18 on the front. I have done it.
The Metzeler *maybe* slightly larger, but I did fit an Avon on - no problems.
I don't think the fender is larger. My Avon 18-140 is the same width as the Metzeler 16-130 I'm taking off.

There have been some that have put a 160 on, I haven't for three reasons.
Unknown size, My Metzeler 150 left very little room between the rubber and fender, I didn't want to risk 10mm more.
At the time I was researching 150/160 tires for the rear, the Metzeler 160's exceeded the recommended width of the Fatboy rim. It would distort the contact patch of tread to pavement; 150 was as wide as I could go at that time. You may be able to fit a 160 Avon back there because like I have said elsewhere the Avons are slightly smaller.
And lastly I'm in the middle of an 18-200 fit on the back, with the stock size pulley/belt for my model year.
