No you can't put a deuce fender on a FXST without substantial mods...that leads me to ask...why would anyone want to swap out the fatbob fender on a FXST for the "half dome" looking deuce unit anyway...Don't get me wrong I think Deuces are good looking bikes in general (I almost bought one before I got my Standard) but the rear fender on a deuce is flat-out ugly IMO.
if anything i would take the fender off of the duece and put the FXST on in its place. i love my duece but the rear fender has taken some time to get used to.
I just can't stand the little flip up at the end of the fender. It does'nt fit the lines of the bike IMO. I want to run a wider tire also. I guess I'll have to get an aftermarket fender and put a deuce taillight on.
What year bike have you got? If its an 05 or older I can understand the wanting a bigger tire, I am very happy with the 200mm on my 07 Custom but think it should have happened at least 15 years ago.
If you have an older one you could get a wide tire kit. Most of the aftermarket ones include a fender of some kind, cause the origianl isn't going to fit anyway. Check them out, you may find one that has the style fender you want, or maybe they will substitue the one in the kit for something you like better.
Won't hurt to ask, you never know you might find a kindred spirit who'll help you out.
I have an 01. I would be happy with a 180.
The new 07's with the 200 is awesome. I guess I'll have to get an aftermarket fender, I like the strutless look anyway.
The thing with the Deuce rear fender is that you have to lower
the rear of the bike so that the lower line of the fender lines up with the
top of the rim. Go in the Deuce section and take a look at Deuce Dude's,
Voodoo's and pro1955's Deuces and you'll see what I mean.
One of the reasons I didn't buy an FXST was because of the rear fender, too skinny looking, the new ones are great. Looks alot better with the wider fender and wider tire, if you were able to run a Deuce fender it would look funny with that narrow rear tire.
