Default Cleaning Engine

Looking for some advice on cleaning the black parts of the engine on my Deluxe, they look very dry and dull and are starting to get a few grey blemishes on them, hard to put into words, but I figure some of you guys may know what I mean and what to do about it.

Pig spit! Wash it with simple green first, and then hit it with pig spit!

Lawnmowerman,

S100 Engine Bright will restore the luster to the black engine paint. Available at your Harley Davidson dealership. WD40 also works well although it doesn't last as long as the S100.

You guys are too good, cheers for the advice, i can get S100 engine brightener no problem, and although no one seems to sell simple green over here I can get a degreaser from my mates shop.
Only got bike today, an 07 Deluxe ,it came from across your side of the world, Jacksonville, Sold and serviced by St Augustine Harley. its my second Deluxe in 3 months, after a false start with the first one, which has gone back.

black magic tire cleaner works wonders on my train and its like $6 a bottle. Just spray it on a rag and rub it into all the black parts on my bike (primary, engine, air cleaner, etc.) and it looks bran new.
