I bought my '06 over the '07 because I got a GREAT deal on it...if I want a 96" motor I'll just stroke out my 88" (and by the way I can lug my 88 almost to death with no problem) and as far as the 6 speed goes I'm just fine with 5 they built 'em that way for years and if I really want one I can add that too...and I don't have any "rocks in a can" noises coming out of my 5 .What really sold me was the look of the 200 tire though probably the best change the MOCO has made in years.
That could be a hard desision. If the 06 was way cheaper , i might go with it to save money, but the 07 with the beefier motor and xtra gear would be nice.
Remember when we drove 4 speeds and seems you would try to hit another gear while in forth and wished for a 5th gear.
Then they made 5 speeds and it seems Im always trying to go up another gear while in 5th and wishing for a 6 th gear.
mabie they should just go ahead and make a 18 gear HD.[8D]

That's not as funny as you may think. I have already gone and tried to upshift out of 6th a couple of times. It just seems natural to want to shift when the engine reaches a certin rpm range. When I did it and nothing happened I would look down and see that little green 6 on the speedo and wonder what the hell I was thinking. Cause about then the speedo is already regestering well into the 70's and is still climbing fast.
This sucker doesn't seem to have any upper limits as far as usable torque goes. But I think that aerodynamics and the overall weight will eventually keep it from exceeding the sound barrier.
Well that and I'm too old to do anyting that dumb, at least that's what I tell the wife. Think she believe's me?
