I know a guy who put on true duals to his Lo, loved the look but said when your at a stop your left leg burns up pretty fast where your sitting so low.
With a proper tune your leg should not burn up. I ran Samson's on my fatboy (2002) for a few years. I am in the process of putting a new set of Samson's on it right now. Never had an issue with the left leg heat I have read about, maybe it is only an issue on the 96" bikes.
As far as the "crossover" he is referring to the left pipe. It will fit fine. On the newer softails (07 and up) they come with a different coil mounting bracket to make room for the pipes. On the older models like mine there is no need for a different coil mount as they fit with the stock one.
I think they would look great. Samson also makes quite a few varieties of duals with slash cut tips and such. I prefer the look of teh Samson's to taht of teh V&H as they sit quite a bit lower and look sleeker with the bike giving it those long, low lines. Just my opinion.
