OK....was going to go out on Monday and get V&H true duals with the fin tips for the fatboy,......but wanted to run it by the folks here and see if I was doing the right thing.....which duals do you consider the best bang for the buck?......I love the look of duals.......and don't think I'll be satisfied until I get them....Seems like V&H was the automatic choice...but wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was overlooking.....thanks....
I'm currently running stock exhaust with SE II slip ons....and before you ask..no I'm not selling them.....

I prefer the V&H True Duals because of the 4" diam. All the others I researched were at 3 to 3.5". It sounds deeper to me.
My other choice would have been the Rienhardts.

If you are truly looking for "the best bang for the buck", and if street performance is the bang you refer to, a 2 into 1 setup will outperform the duals, especially mid range torque.
Just be aware that proper tuning of 2 into 2 pipes such as the duals can improve top end power, but really, how often are you there?
Looks and sound is more often the qualifying characteristics in choosing pipes, and if this is the case, by all means choose the duals if they satisfying these characteristics.
I'm building this fatboy for looks....The bang in this case equals exhaust that looks and sounds good without quickly tarnishing.......performance is an afterthought...I know 2 into 1 is better for performance...but this is afterall a harley.......and this is one of those places where I better leave it at that.....rather than railing that harley and performance don't often collide in the same sentence...and shouldn't....
It's me, banjoboyone, saying "Hi" from Japan! I would never have guessed it was you, except for the picture of your 100th anniv. ('03) Fatboy in your avitar on BHO. I just bought a 105 anniv. Fatty, myself. A lot of people don't like the color because they relate it to Duracell, but I dig it, myself.
Gosh, guess we'll be seeing you in both places from now on. Later, and oh...sorry to interrupt. Small world. Had to say something.
