Exhaust
New HD Heritage owner here. 2010 bike that shows up in about 4 weeks. Been reading lots on "standard" upgrades and one consistent is changing out the stock mufflers.
Just wondering what is the best for a heritage?

Congratulations on the pending arrival of you Heritage. Is the bike brand new? What do you plan on doing with it looks and performance wise?
Is "to loud" a possible issue?
Hey your in Nova Scotia will you be riding in 4 weeks?
Fred
Hey Troupe, Bike is used from Illinois 2800 miles on it. I've already added more extras than I planned..lindby linbar, New HD Sig Series Seat, LED headlight & lamps, pass floor boards etc etc. I won't doing much more with it than I've already done. May add some custom wheels down the line.
Too loud would be an issue. Prefer that deep throaty sound.
Believe it or not I"m starting to see bikes on the road now. At a balmy 3-5c it's still a tad chilly for me. Mid apr usually sees +10 to +15c daytime highs. So, it's nice.

For a Heritage Softail YES! there are exhaust systems that are "to loud"
The pipes on that Texas Chopper look great and probably announce the bike's arrival from a mile away, but on his Softail, I don't think so.
Most of use Heritage riders are looking for that low throaty sound while still keeping peace in the neighborhood.
There are a dozen or so good choices for slip ons and then there are complete systems. Do a little search in this forum and you may find a youtube link or two where you can listen to some of them. I'm going for a retro Hydra Glide look with a two into one fishtail.
Get a history on the bike to see exactly what was done, you might save some money by not duplicating the effort.
