Hey all just bought a fatboy 2011 and i need to drop about 1 to 1 1/2 inches ... question is, is it better to get the lower seat or lower the shocks ... as far as ride comfort
I know about the air shocks and respring ( thats just out of my price range right now )
If reach is the reason, I'd do the seat first. A low profile seat makes a huge difference compared to stock Fatboy seat, not just in height but in width too allowing for more reach to the ground and forward controls.
alright then ... so what is the best low reach seat ... not looking to be pushed into the tank just narrower or lower ( the reason i didnt get the fatboy lo was the seat pushed me into the tank with the extra 2 inches in the back support )
Just threw a Lepara barebones on mine and love it. I did not need the extra lower hight but did it for the looks. Drops me around 1".
Look at Lepara and C and C seats web sites and they explain what each mode seat will do. EX- move forward/lower and so on.
You have many options.I sent my seat to Mean City Cycles to have it re-shaped and padded. They offer many options from $40.00 to $300.00 for their work.If you decide to lower it you may want to think about a kit that is adjustable so you can dial it in a little better.
sorry .. the seat moves you back ... thats odd normally they push you forward this may be a good way to go .. how much was it? a buddy of mine just bought a corbin and he says it holds hime in the seat better ... do any of these do the same?
