Mirror adjustment...
had the same problem on the wife's sporty....come to find out, harley sells 3" mirror stem extentions and they work great!
not to mention they were only like $20-$25
dont have any great pics of them but , you can kinda see them in this one

Even though I have pretty good visibility with the stock mirrors on my fattie I never fully trust them. Just like when you're driving your car there are blind spots that your mirrors won't pick up. As a point of safety I try to always swivel my head and look over my shoulder when making a lane change. It's a good habit to get into and just might save you from stumbling into the path of a dozing cage operator... That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I have a friend that mounted his stock mirrors under the bars on his sportster. He said he can see behind him. His father in law had a superglide that he mounted drag bars. He added the extensions on the mirrors & still could not see. He kept adding extensions until the mirrors where up as high as ape hangers[sm=icon_rofl.gif] People made fun of him until he sold that bike.
