Default Need help before I pull primary

Hello all,

I'm leaving on monday for four months to beautiful Camp Shelby MS, and Ft. Polk. In a time crunch and do intend to get a service manual when I get back. But first I am going to break the Bones down for PC. I want to pull the primary, timing cover, derby and trans cover off. Anything special I need to know? I know there is oil in the primary. As I said I will have the manual to put the shtuff back together, but don't have time to wait for one now. Any help is appreciated.

1) Replace all of your gaskets.. the manual specifically states that at least with the Primary cover, every time you remove it, you need to replace the gasket.

2) Keep your bolts separated..a labelled ziplock bag is a good way.

3) When all else fails, get a bigger hammer.

Drain your fluids, Pull your footboards, pull your exhaust and remove the covers. It is all pretty straight forward. Cover everything up with plastic while you are gone, so nothing gets inside.
I would be a little worried about having all of it opened up, without any fluids for 4 months, if you have any worry about condensation.
You will need snap ring pliers for the trans cover, dont drop the bearings.

LoL! It's all good.. It is easy to do. Just put the three bearings in a little ziplock baggie. There's a snap ring holding the two pieces sandwhiching the three bearings together.
