Post Looking for harley riders' ingenuity

You know the bolt on top of the rear fender that holds the seat down? The guy who I bought my springer from didn't quite know how to put it back together after he bought a new seat so the area around the hole is damaged. It's damaged to the point where I can't ride a solo seat because the paint is chipped off as far as an inch from the hole. I've seen some rides with a round plastic insert/button that goes in the hole but I'm not about to go looking for an insert that's 2" in diameter. I'm hoping some of you guys and gals may know of a cool and creative way to cover up this blemish. I'm open to any and all ideas!

I'd ruff up the damaged area and clean it with some acetone before hitting it with some primer. Otherwise, it will get worse and rust under the undamaged part. Then you can try to find a cover.

I looked up some bibs and it looks like they might not quite cover up the damage. I think it'll pop out from under the back of the bib. If only the damage was toward the front! But primer is definitely a must.

I can't tell from your signature pic, but does the fender match your tank color? Can you post pics of the problem area?

If it's a stock paint job, I'd look through their paint wizard for repairing the damaged area.

+1 and if it's still noticeable maybe get a nice pinstripe graphic done on the damaged area
