turn your petcock to "Off"..disconnect the fuelline from the bottom of the petcock.. attach new hose leading to bucket/fuel can away from the bike, turn petcock to "reserve" and let drain.

I siphoned what I could out of the tank. Then, I put my fuel cap back on, positioned a funnel & bucket under the fuel hose and slowly loosened it. When it cam off (and I was catching all the gas in the funnel) I unscrewed my gas cap and let the remainder of fuel drain into the bucket. Take your time and you'll be fine. Rush, and you'll get gas all over the f_cking place.

i use two needle nose vise grips and pinch both sides off then cut line in the middle...take tank off with fuel in it...then i drain, not a drop hits the floor...gotta buy fuel line but its dirt cheap and i buy 5 feet to last years

I do mine same as DB...... except you can use the extra fuel line and get a hose connecter to run the line down to a fuel can. Take off the vice grips and pop the gas cap so it'll drain quicker.
