I am looking into getting a swing arm bag for my 03 Fat Boy. I like the way they look and also need something for storage on my bike. I am looking at the Leather Works bags and would like to get the 5" bag compared to the 3. However my bike is lowered about 1.25 inches front and back so I am concerned that I might scrape if I corner too hard. Has anyone had issues scraping your swing arm bag? Also some pictures of your bikes with these bags would be nice.
Price was good, shipping was good, and I put it on my FB Lo which should be about the same height as yours.
Can't say for sure it isn't going to scrape, but so far with 100 miles on it, no worries.
If I ordered it again I would order it without the internal leather straps, I used electrical tape around the swing arm and heavy zip ties as others have on the forum.
I just couldn't get the leather straps as tight as I wanted them.
I've had no problems with scraping on my LO. I do use the leather straps as well. tightened them up after a week or so and they seem fine ever since. The leather will stretch so you have to keep an eye on it until it's good and tight.
I got the LW 5" from the Doc, my Train's lowered 2" n I ain't scraped it yet n I'm commin off 10 years of ridin a Ducati, going back to a HD it's definitely a different animal than a sport bike.
I cut the leather straps off n used zip ties, gonna go with this mount eventually. http://www.chasinwhitelines.blogspot.com/
