Hey Everyone, as with many others on the forums I have been hunting an exhaust for my Fat Boy Lo that will have a look and a sound that will please me and keep my wife happy. I have been hunting high and low for an exhaust: all the brands sites, forums, online stores, anywhere and everywhere. Long story short, the V&H Straightshots full exhaust seem to be the only exhaust we can agree on.
However before I get them I wanted to know why nobody else seems to have them. I know they are a true 2 to 2 system so the performance is not going to be as good as a 2 into 1 or crossover system. I want something kind of old school but not if it drives me into buying an exhaust that is going make me hate myself in the end.
I have heard a plethora of V&H pipes (Short Shots, BS Staggered, Long Shots, Big Radius) in person and my wife and I like the sound. But I have not heard the Straightshots in person. I fear they will have a different sound since they do not have the power chamber. Also, there are very few videos/sound clips of the full system out there. I have found 1 of decent quality.
Has anyone had any experience with the Straightshots full system? I am not interested in the slip-ons as part of the goal of the new exhaust is to move the top exhaust pipe below the passenger foot peg.

NHFatBoyLo, I have V&H Longs on my Deluxe. I love the sound. And with the tuner and intake the bike runs real good. The only problem I have is that they drag the asphalt to easy. I guess thats not the pipes fault. I just like to ride it like I stole it. I think you and your bride will dig V&H. Good luck on your decision.
