Default easy bracket stud covers

This is a longshot but I got the easybracket quick detachable saddlebag hardware (LOVE it...super quality) and I was wondering if anyone here has it and found (happened on to) a black mounting stud cover by chance....at Lowes...or autozone, etc. called easybracket they dont make one. several days ago there was a thread here called "black bike details often overlooked" or something like that....I liked the bolt head black paint idea on the back fender struts so I did it.... now those EZ bracket studs stand out a lot. painting the bracket studs is a last ditch option because I'll have to touch them up every time I use the saddle bags. I assume powdercoating them would fill in the groove (that the bracket slides in to mount up) too much to be usable. thanks.

As you already pointed out, you'd have to touch them up. Even powder coat will wear away rather quickly.

They only thing I can think of would be maybe a home bluing kit for firearms. You can get it for about $12 at most sporting good stores. That makes the metal black, and because it seeps into the metal, it will last longer.

I'm heavy into guns and reloading. But I've never tried it on chrome either. Let me know how it goes, I'm curious.

I bought the detachable sissy bar bracket covers from HD, and machined down the bracket stud, as it is a little to large to fit inside. I'm working on another cover to cover up what is still exposed on them. One nice thing is that I can leave on the front sissybar/rear easy-bracket cover on when I don't have bags on, but do have the sissybar.

Just a thought. You might be able to find some of those black rubber ends that go on chair legs or canes. Not sure what sizes they come in but it might be worth a look.

The part number I used is 48223-10

Yes, just mill it down a few thousandths. The only issue I had was that the studs are stainless steel...which isn't magnetic, to I added a chrome washer from H-D (under a buck each) to the end, so the magnet would have something to grab onto.
