seen some pics of Deuces that have been raked out more. What did you like about it ? What didnt you like ? Where did you get the parts, cost, etc. ? Trying to see if its "worth" it
Raking the trees reduces the trail. 3deg isn't really enough to mess with it much but might not look raked enough. Going out to 6deg can adversely affect the handling. To counter that you can get longer legs for the front end and lower the rear. 4 over would set it out real nice with 6deg trees. 4 over being the legs are 4in longer than stock.
Or you can cut and rake the neck, but there's no going back from that one.
thanks guys, saw a kit that said (I think) took the rake to 43degrees (the pic looked awesome) but wondered how bad it would affect the handling. It also said the kit was completely reversible. Lastly it said it would take roughly 7hrs to do the job and I would have to pay someone as I dont have the tools and not very mechanically inclined unfortunately
I did a 6* rake on mine, I think it handles great,I might have to slow down a tiny bit around tighter turns, but I don't really slalom it very often. tree's cost around 500-600, a set of tube's around 150, maybe some brake line for 50.00. and some time, you might consider an invisible fork stop for around 150.

Take a look at any late model Wide Glide and you'll see what raked tree's look like on a Harley. Wide Glides have had raked trees from the factory for many years. It sounds like your speaking of the Chopperkits like AME and Seeger that are special bolt on systems that effectively change the steering head angle. They can be taken off with no changes to the motorcycle if you wish. They look a little funny, but I have ridden a few on Sportsters and they really do ride like stock. I was pretty surprised. The purists will bust your ***** about not being a "real" chopper, but thats really not my opinion about the kits.
