Just finished changing mine. Used the Softbrake bracket and also used their Tombstone Taillight housing, along with the Custom Dynamics LED plate frame. Tried to make the change without pulling the wheel, but the deep well socket wouldn't fit, so off it came. Had to notch the plate for the wiring, notched the bracket as well. Looks so much better than stock.
I wish there was a "curved" below the taillight option. While the Softbrake kit serves it's purpose, to me its just moving the "big flat billboard" from one location to another. If they could curve the back plate and frame and look more contoured to the fender, I'd definitely be into it.

The bracket is sturdy, yet thin enough to bend to fit the contour of the plate frames that are curved. I did think about doing just that. Maybe contact Softbrake to see if they could set you up.
Did mine last week. Saw a U-tube video of someone doing this change and thought I had to make it, then found in the comments about softbrake. Love the change, took a bad picture tho. lol.
Finally managed to get all my parts and pieces collected, and get my Softbrake kit installed. I'm definitely happy with the change. Thanks to all who posted here with tips and tricks, they all helped. I ended up doing the work with the bike on a lift, with the fender and rear wheel still installed. Only time this really presented a minor issue was one of the upper nuts holding the taillight housing was partially seized up, so it took a lot of patience to get it out a 1/8 turn at a time.
This is my setup, with all Custom Dynamics LEDs in the rear - Bullet Ringz in the turns, LED tombstone board, and low profile LED license frame.
