Hey all, got an issue with a 2011 heritage. I installed the boom audio winshield mount stereo on the bike, system sounds good so far. Haven't got a chance to road test yet. I'm using my garmin nuvi 360 which has a built in mp3 player. I also installed the kuryakyn chrome cig lighter to power garmin. Problem is when the garmin is powered by lighter it whines and gets all static like, but unplugged it sounds great! I hooked the kury up as stated in the manual for it, direct to the battery.
Bike has a pcv, bal-1 tail light and the boom audio setup. What's The culprit here. Had the garmin powered similar on my old fxdb with no issues.
Also I used the harley electrical adapter for 2011 softails to power the amp setup. There is no cutting main harness. You connect the wires to adapter with crimp plugs and plug into digital technician plug under seat.
Thanks!

Thanks doc, the wiring for amp is run under console and to the harley adapter that goes into the digital technician plug under seat. No splicing was required to harness. Just had the kury plug wire dangling there by plugs. Hmmmm... I can try tommorrow to run wire on other side. It sounded like that in both the acc and the run position of ignition.

It had a humm when the bike wasnt running?
Tells me you have a bad (dirty or cold joint) connection somewhere
Thanks kkpg, I checked the lighter and amp connections and they seem ok. This is drivin me nuts. Ill spend more time on it tommorrow.
I'm going to reroute the amp wires from under console to under tank and solder and heat shrink instead of butt connectors. Would it be a good idea to wire the lighter to the same wires as amp. Would be cool to have it on aux.
