Default Pulling the seat post?

In another thread here I saw this mentioned. Could someone explain what this does? I think I have an idea but could someone maybe post a pic?

Thanks.

It's a fake seat post, it just bolts in at the top to the frame under the seat and at the bottom to the transmission. It's only there to hold the coil.

Right on! I'm making the exhaust and that extra clearance will be great.

Thanks!

Where did you move your coil to?

I pulled my post and moved my coil to where the horn was and mounted my horn down by the right passenger peg.

I used the Exile kit and moved it behind the rear splash guard. Also used the exile horn relocation kit. If you want a completely clean left side engine, I would recommend the coil kit, but not the horn kit. Someone could make the horn bracket themselves very easily by looking at the pic on the Exile website and using their coil bracket as a template.

Cool.

Thanks guys!

I have a hard time buying a bracket though...I'll give it a try.

Some pretty slick looking Softails on here. I never knew.

I made my own brackets. Just hook the coil to the horn cover. Pretty easy. If you are making your own exhaust this should be cake.

When I did mine I took the seat post, threw it in a vice and using a back and forth motion I snapped off the coil mount part of the seat post and reused it when mounting the coil where the horn was. Worked awesome and no brackets needed.
