With the small dia on the bottom of the riser and If U have Apes.. then Ur putting a lot of stress on the riser bolt every time U get on and off the bike from the height of the bars.
The taller the bars the more stress thats applied..
I am also thinking its more from that than over TQ the bolt itself.
Here are some more pics. The bolts are grade5 and I am replacing them with some grade8 bolts. As for the bushings, they are poly and iam replacing them with new ones at the same time..
that really sux..i had a riser bolt fall out on a stretched springer chopper once..i was pulling into a bike shop,the bars went sideways..i still dont know how i saved it..it still freaks me out when the bars move from the bushings flexing
