Not the old gas gauge necessarily, but *a* gas gauge.

Cutting the wires didn't really cause any problem, I cut them on the gauge side, at that point its already disconnected.

In reality this is really just about $100, at a certain point it's just too much trouble to be worth all the time it takes to bake up and install complex home remedies.

I'm just going to add an LED gauge on that side. If I ever decide to repaint the tank I'll fill it in with metal and be done all together, but for now an LED gauge will be fine. Besides, I like the shanzy colors on my new gauge and the fuel gauge on the new speedo/tach I can actually trust.

i'm really happy with the flush mount kit...would get the speedo/tach for the tach function
