I've seen a couple Rockers on here that have chrome strips in the grooves of their oil tank. Have been searching every where trying to find them. If anyone knows where I can get some, I would be very grateful. I have found some on Ebay, however, they are in the United Kingdom. I'd prefer to buy something a little closer. I've checked all my local auto parts stores and...nothing
I got mine at a local Kragen/O'Reilly auto parts store.
I used rubbing alcohol to clean the oil tank prior to applying and painted the ends of the strips with matching touch up paint to both dress up and seal the ends.
I had thought about using polished stainless tubing, but Rocker_Dan's method was cheaper and easier.
I used an x-acto knife to cut the strips to length.
I am going to use stainless round stock on the grooves of the grenade coil though. I tried thinner strips of chrome on it, but the curve was too great for the strips to hold.

Thanks Kowan,
Kragen was the first place I looked. The guy that worked there acted like he had never heard of chrome adhesive strips before. Looks like I might have to order it from Hong Kong (Ebay). Btw, I like your bike...nice color
I think it was Pep Boys, you need to look for automotive door trim. Mine came in a roll, maybe 25 feet or so, i dont remember. Just cut each strip to length.
I know this is a old post but i just did this mod today with the old lady and for some reason toward the rear of the tank (closest to the rear axle) the 3m tape wont hold. I guess it where the curve gets too great for the tape to hold. im just a little suprised because 3m tape is usually awesome soo any suggestions on how to get it to stick on that same spot for all of them? I thought about just dripping some superglue down on that spot but.....seems a little messy looking for cleaner suggestions. thanks!
