Default Been a while... new look for my X-bones

Havent been on in forever... havent ridden in forever it seems as well but I finally got around to working on the bike again. Put a lot of money into my Stang and sold my Vette

Anyways I popped the rear fender off the bike and put on the lower springs and kind of like the look right now. Im also looking into this tank style shifter... let me know what you all think. The air filter was off getting recharged so it looks goofy.

The bike

The shifter

Also heres a nice vid of my Stang.. I know its a Harley forum but damn it sounds good and looks good I think

The Stang

I told myself I wouldn't do anything else to the stang.. besides the new short throw shifter and the shaker scoop on order. I'm doing a supershaker in the future. 350hp keeps me happy for now.

The shifter is from widowmaker industries. Great name right? I want a jockey shift and suicide clutch but don't want to die... and that shifter is only $270.

It looks good but if you are going to do a tank shifter get a foot clutch.

Made a shifter like that years ago. Cut and bent some old drag bars for my shifter, shorter clutch cable and there ya have it. I'm glad to see you young guys still doing the fun ol' school stuff.

I also recommend going the foot clutch route. From a shifter perspective, here is a police-style shifter that clamps onto the frame downtube that won't break the bank:

As far as a foot clutch goes, given your bike's styling I would lean more toward using a rocker clutch ("heel to stop/toe to go") which has the advantage being able to lock in the disengaged position unlike a suicide ("car type") foot pedal that does not. I had a guy comment to me last Saturday that my clutch pedal reminded him on an old VW.

I want to but im not really how to set it up properly. I hate the way HD changed so many little things on the softails and X-bones. Hell I cant even get a straight answer on forward controls... same dealership quoted me $300 and $1000 just two different techs.

I thought about doing a foot clutch w/ auto clutch and jockey shift just so I could shift normal but in case an emergency happened I could just roll of the throttle and brake normally and put both feet down but the auto clutches are $600+ Im in the Navy and im pretty sure if I put a foot clutch on my bike and got injured i'd be getting screwed. They're kicking people out left and right now.

Other idea was a rocker clutch with jockey shifter but I cant find that setup anywhere. Im up for trying to get stuff fabricated for my bike but I don't want to spend the cash for it... I really threw some money into my car and im trying to just pay them off faster instead of tearing them up faster.... but it sure is fun to do burnouts in my car and on my bike....

If anyone knows a setup I can do fairly safe and not spend a grand on I'd love to try it out. Or how to setup a rocker clutch pedal on my bones. As for now this tank shifter is a little old school and I can still ride pretty easily with it. Im comfortable making U turns with one hand and holding my bike with one hand while riding... but anything more than that I'd probably catch **** for.
