Gotta love a Happy ending...enjoy your ride Wabbit...on a side note when I picked up my 2011 lo they said there was a blemish on the gas tank and oil cover and they had new ones on order...I have yet to see the blemishes, and the new parts are in (being replaced at 1000 mile service)...I have to say Woodstock Harley gets a Thumbs up from me...

Woodstock HD is where I first sat on a Harley- a fat boy, to be exact. A relative worked there. HD love at first site. Haven't looked back since.

You got the best case scenario out of this one with a new motor. I have found that under the warranty the dealer will continue to fix whatever is wrong with the bike. Just remember to keep records and document everything - including times/dates and conversations you had and with whom. I am sure for the next two years you will be covered, but you probably want some assurance that when the warranty runs out that all the parts that were replaced during that time have somewhat of a life just beyond the warranty period - which is where the record keeping should help.

Good luck on the bigger motor. I suppose there is a possibility that the dealership would consider selling you the upgrade, but I doubt you are going to get too much for free. You might get further if they gave you some sort of credit for all the inconvenience that you can apply towards a future purchase of parts, service or accessories - perhaps ask for the 1000, 5000, 10000 mile services to be covered or something like that. It is less out of their pocket and a reasonable request.

Good luck with everything and thanks for serving.

On that note moriarty, maybe you should keep your assenine opinions to yourself. This forum is to help people out and encourage our peers on the success of our bikes. Most of us work very hard to get these great looking bikes we ride. My guess is you are a trust fund baby that hasn't paid for a thing in your life and sponge off society or your parents as much as you can. This is usually how spoiled a$$holes act. If that is how you are going to act maybe you should create your own forum for a$$holes with Harley's that think they are cool, then you can be the head DI%K!!!

I also might add, the guy you are clownin happens to be in the military, fighting over seas to protect the freedoms that you enjoy everyday that allow you to do such things like run your mouth on forums like this!!! If it were me I would think twice about the stuff you say on here!!

With that said.. Wabbit, I wish you the best of luck, all you can do is wait to see what happens. The bike is under warranty and I doubt the dealer will screw you. Just hang in there and see what happens. I would ask for a loaner bike though, most places will at least do that for ya so you have something to ride.

That's a heavy thing to say buster.
I've been a soldier myself for 10 years in the Dutch army way back in the
early seventies..no one ever respected me for that.
For your info..I'm 59 years old..riding for 40 years and I know what I'm talking about..
So save me your crap estimations..based upon nothing.
You think again..

Eaaaaasy fellas. Listen, let's keep it to the subject at hand. The OP got screwed and has basically won in the end. Let's be happy for him and rejoice in the proverbial "Little Guy" finally winning one.

Thanks. I kinda do it for a living. Like to think I'm pretty good at it. This forum is a bastion of information and good will. Let's try to keep it that way.

Then I'd venture to say you're either a marriage counselor or a correctional officer....LOL.
